Candolim Beach
Candolim Beach is one of the finest and also one of the biggest beaches of North Goa. This beach is actually extension of the immensely popular Calangute Beach. This beach however is exactly opposite of Calangute Beach, which is literally thronged and crowded by tourists. Here you’ll find immensely less crowd and hence there is always peace and serenity on this beach. In fact these very characteristics are main USP of Candolim Beach. Tourists have always and even today come here for sunbathing and relaxing.
While peace and serenity found are indeed unique features of this beach, but here you’ll also find water sport activities. Especially Para-sailing and jet-skiing are immensely popular here. Besides, special boat trip to view dolphins are also arranged on this beach. And of course there are quite a few shacks on this beach, where you can dine and chill with your friends.
Candolim Beach also happens to be home to a historical fort. A fort that literally helped Portuguese empire in consolidating their control over Goa. This fort is known as Fort Aguada and it sits majestically at southern end of Candolim Beach. This historical fort also has beautiful lighthouse on the top of it, it is probably the only lighthouse of Goa; another reason why you must not miss to experience this fort.
And as for beach itself is concerned, then it is immensely beautiful. It is completely a sandy beach and sand here is immensely soft, making it a perfect beach for relaxing and strolling. Another special feature of Candolim Beach is that it is amongst the cleanest beaches of North Goa. This is mainly due to less number of tourists on this beach.
